This past weekend at ZG’s Beast of the East tournament we had several ASA teams competing in bracket play as well championship games.

ASA 3rd Grade Jordan dominated in group play going 3-0! They went head to head with Middlesex Magic in the championship game, coming up short 13-24. ASA 5th Grade Kerry qualified for bracket play, losing to EVO 2031, 29-32. This team’s only other loss was to Stay True who ended up winning it all, showing ASA’s ability to compete with very high-level teams. ASA Select 6th Spinner played up in a 7th-grade division. They made bracket play but faced a tough NSSA team that went on to win their division. This 6th-grade team’s ability to challenge older teams has been exciting to watch all season long. ASA Select 8th Grade Frankie went 3-0 in group play and advanced to the championship game. In a hard-fought battle, Premier Hoops came away with a 1-point victory. Coach Frankie’s 9th Grade Select team also qualified for a championship game, losing yet another close game to TNE Central 53-56. ASA Erik 10th-grade competed in a championship game as well, however coming short in a 5-point game.

Finally, ASA 10th Frankie, going 2-1 in group play, played 2 incredible bracket play games to take home the championship! They beat Mass Elite 65-62, and PSG Elite 74-71.

We are proud of each team for showing determination, grit, and high-level competitiveness this past weekend, regardless of the outcome. From our 3rd graders all the way up to our 10th graders, ASA continues to compete with the best of the best. Well done teams!
